Police Department
To Protect - To Serve - To Reassure
Members of the Green Oak Police Department provide community oriented policing
service to over 16,000 township residents, as well as to those who visit or pass
through our community. Police services are available 24 hours a day, seven days
a week. Your police department is ready to serve you. Click
here for the Police department's 2005 Year End Report.
We have a staff of highly skilled dedicated people, some of whom live and have
family in this community. Their children attend area schools and family members
work in local businesses. They are proud to serve our residents and visitors.
We have on-staff officers who have specialized training in crime and crash scene
investigations, criminal interviews, school T.E.A.M. (teaching, educating and mentoring),
identity fraud, firearms, community policing, and many others.
The Police Department staff consists of 14 full time officers, one administrative
assistant and one full time clerical employee.
When you dial 911, your call is automatically routed through Livingston County Central
Emergency Dispatch, located in Howell, Michigan.
Bob Brookins is the Chief of Police and serves as the department's administrator.
Chief Brookins has been in law enforcement since 1969. He enjoys the unique challenges
offered by our progressive community. He is particularly proud of his officers'
record of quick response to urgent situations.
Chief Brookins arranged for the lease of two Harley-Davidson police motorcycles to
further assist the department in responding to your needs. The leases for the
two Harleys are being supported by local business contributions.
The motorcycles are used extensively in community policing projects and for conducting
patrols. They are a very visible addition to the patrol vehicle fleet.
Green Oak Township Police Officers stand ready to respond to your request for
assistance at any time, day or night. They accept this responsibility because
of their dedication to duty and to the community they serve.
Officers are on duty 24 hours per day, seven days a week. The business office is
open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for holidays.
The Green Oak Township Police Department is located at 8965 Fieldcrest, Brighton
Michigan 48116. Our administrative phone number is 810 231-9626 and our fax
number is 810-231-9627. After hours, or from outside of Livingston County, the
on-duty officer can be reached by dialing Livingston County Central Dispatch at
517-546-9111.
911 should be used for any and all emergencies,
as well as any requests for police services.
