Committees/Commissions
Green Oak Charter Township has various advisory committees and commissions providing oversight and administrative support to projects and developments throughout the township. Some of these are permanent standing commissions and some are formed on a temporary basis directed towards a specific project. The main purpose of these groups is to gather information, form a consensus, and then advise or make recommendations to the township board.
Some of the permanent commissions or boards are the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Property Tax Board of Review, and the Historic District Commission. Long-standing committees have also been formed for the Water Authority, Sewer Authority, and Recreation Committee. Other committees are formed from time to time as the need arises.
The township is always looking for citizen volunteers to serve on both the permanent and temporary advisory boards and committees. If you are interested in becoming involved, please send the Supervisor a short resume with a letter expressing your area of interest and on which board or committee you might like to serve.
We are actively seeking people to serve on the following boards:
Fonda, Island, Briggs Water Authority
Historic District Commission
Planning Commission
Property Tax Board of Review
Recreation Committee
Zoning Board of Appeals
Election Workers
